Our life on earth must bring joy and fulfilment to oneself and to others. How does it possible? When life lived according to the values and fear of God then we inspire people around us. It makes people happy with whom we are in and ourselves too. God is alive and active in us. He is in our midst – healing, saving and transforming. And yet we do not seem to recognize him. If we do not recognize him, the reason may be that we do not love. We do not love so much as to set out searching, undeterred by darkness. If we are not able to recognize him in our world, may be, we do not allow him to walk with us and listen to our sad tales. May be, we do not invite him to stay with us.
St. Teresa of Avila wrote : “Christ has no body now on earth but yours. Yours are the eyes through which Christ looks upon the world. Yours are the feet with which he is to go about doing good. Yours are the hands with which he is to bless us now.”
God has provided us with numerous talents. We have also been provided with the opportunities of utilizing them and bringing them to light. God is pleased when we make use of our talents. When we make maximum use of them, we reflect God’s creativity in us.
The fine arts are rightly classified among the noblest activities that indicate man’s genius. They express in some way the infinite beauty of God, in works made by human hands. They are beautiful because they reflect nature, express its grace and exhibit a harmony of colours. God, the great artist that he was, was pleased with what he saw in His creation, because it was all so beautiful!
The unmistakable characteristic of a truly mature personality is to appreciate the manifestations of goodness, of joy and beauty evident in daily life. Every man and woman feels steadily transformed and strengthened by such experience. Next to beauty is the power of appreciating it. Never lose an opportunity of seeing anything that is beautiful, for beauty is God’s handwriting – a wayside sacrament. Welcome it in every face, in every sky, in every flower, and thank God for it as a cup of blessing.
Have a Wonderful day
