Dear friends as we celebrate the teacher’s day, it is a wonderful day to remember all the teachers wish them HAPPY TEACHER’S DAY and THANK them for their contribution to the growth of every child in the past, to the present and for the future. While I was just pondering over on what topic should I pen down for day’s article to the website, a flesh of thought that strike me was to write about teacher’s day. When I think of the contribution of teachers to the society. One must forget the teachers play an important role in making of modern society.
As said behind every successful man there is woman, I would rather put it this way behind every successful profession there is a teacher. When I think of a teacher instantly my thought goes to the extraordinary sacrifice they make to bring a child to be great and valued personality. It is their commitment and dedication that makes a doctor who learns to treat a patient in a more conscientious way. It their sacrifice of time that makes a scientist who invents greater discoveries that helps the humanity for a better living, it their love and care that makes a devoted politician for the country, it is their exemplary life that makes service minded religious people both men and women. I am sure after parents it is the teacher who make the child to grow with values, respect for elders and love for the country.
The Teacher stands as guru and he/she are considered to be second to God, Who knows every need of a child; it is teacher who prepares the child for life making him to face the realities with challenges. For every child teacher becomes a role model and reference point for anything. The teacher fills the absence of God in the reality of day to day life, showing the way how they need to walk the path. The children are guided and made to understand life is to contribute to the welfare of the society. It is there the child learns from his/her teacher how to make life meaningfully lived.
Well often as a child there always linked few questions in my mind…
- why at all a school?
- Why teachers be strict?
- Why need to sit up for long time in a class-room ?
- What is the need for education?
- Did they not our grandparents lived better without education?
For all my doubts I had wonderful answer called TEACHER
T – TEACHES FOR LIFE
E – ENCOURAGES WHEN YOU DO GOOD
A – ACTIVATES YOUR PERSONALITY TO DO BETTER
C – CONSTNAD COMPANION WHO STANDS BY YOU
H – HIGHLY COMMITTED TO THE PROFESSION
E- EVER READY TO HELP WHEN YOU ARE IN NEED
R – REACHES YOU TO HIGH POSITION IN THE SOCIETY BY FEELS PROUD OF YOU
My dear friends to be frank with you, it took me almost 40 years to understand the meaning of a teacher. I realized the noble profession of teaching means a lot to society. It is the basic foundation of all other professions. It is a simple teacher who creates every great men and women of great caliber for the nation. One must understand teacher is a precious companion, a mother of part time, he/she patches up bruises and wipes away tears with a kind look and understanding he/she banishes fear of every child who comes him/her. To be a teacher one needs special blessings and God’s call. It is not everyone is called for this profession. A teacher is blessed with patience so rare a voice so soft and gentle and heart so sweet and fair. He /she is every ready to lend his/her knowledge to each child to show the reason to learn and accept generously.
In today’s modern society every child would love to come across a teacher with heartwarming smile, a good listener worthwhile to cherish, A constant companion to walk with, A playmate to encourage the child while they do well. A reference point for all their doubts, A consoler when they are in trouble, A light for their path, A inspiring model for their lives, A sensitive listener to their worries, A second father and mother in their school days and finally A child’s dearest friend at times who never let them down in any situations.
I believe and vouch, proudly say, what I am today, it is my teachers who made me 40 years ago. They molded me like a gold put in the fire before it takes wonderful and attractive ornament, like wise my teachers were tough when they suppose to be, they were soft when they need to. Every action of mine and every character formation of mine that of a teachers who inspired me in various walks of my life right from childhood till today, I always make it point to remember and visit all my teachers who taught me the values of life. It is their sense of dedication, commitment, care, concern, timely corrections and encouragement makes me person fully grown. I owe my teachers for making me fine personality in spite of all my limitations.
