Today teaching has become a profession, it is no more like that of olden days where people committed themselves for that noble mission. The society looks into education has business model. You pay more you get a teacher who charges you hourly, today it is no more mission it is just a job. Some people have a job in the school; others involve themselves in a commitment
What’s the difference?
- If you are doing it just because you are paid for it, it’s a Job.
- If you are doing it to serve the Lord, and the society, it’s a commitment.
- If you quit this service, because somebody criticized you, it was a Job.
- If you keep on serving despite hardships, it’s a Ministry.
- If you’ll do it only as long as it does not interfere with your other activities, it is a Job.
- If you are committed to staying with it even when it means letting go of other things, it is a Ministry.
- If you quit because no one praised you or thanked you, it was a Job.
- If you stay with it even though nobody recognizes your efforts, it is a Ministry.
- It’s hard to get excited about a Job.
- It’s almost impossible not to be excited about your teaching Ministry.
- If your concern is only success, it’s a Job.
- If our concern is faithfulness and efficient service, it’s a Ministry.
- An average school/ institution is filled with people with Jobs.
- A great and successful school is filled with people involved in Ministry.
- If God call s you to do a Ministry, don’t treat it like a Job.
- If you have a Job, give it up and find a Ministry.
- God does not want you feeling stuck with a Job, but be excited and be faithful to Him in a Ministry.

How should be your Teaching Job?
- Teaching is not a job; it is a commitment; it is a way of life – it is MINISTRY.
- Doing a job brings in money, prestige and security but teaching gives Inner satisfaction and healing.
- Love your teaching ministry first of all. Do all the works with Interest and dedication.
- Accept your mistakes gladly and rectify the wrongs.
- Increase your knowledge about teaching, methodology and about your subjects. Allow yourself to be taught and educated.
- Have some order and discipline in your ministry coupled with love and compassion.
- Children are imitators and not interpreters. You are a role model. Students therefore imitate you. You have a huge impact on the young minds.
- Dealing with books, papers and ink is easy; but dealing with students of flesh and blood, with tender hands and tender hearts is hard and challenging.
- If the students do not like to learn, teach them how to learn to like
- Education is not mere passing of examination and scoring marks. It is formation in divine and human values for life.
When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one that has been opened for us”. (Helen Keller). So never let go your commitment to teaching whatever the challenges you face remain faithful and be committed.
