In a technological world today, media play an very important role in the life of every child. The children of this modern day need to be taught the importance of usage of social media. If the child is able to use them well it can boost them up with knowledge, skill and great exposure in getting to know things. Today when we look at the society and the way it moves the youth needs lots guidance to march successful path, for which the value based education will do a greater deal in making the child understand life better.
The focus on value-based education is must in all the schools today. It drives home, to the children, not merely the act of doing the right things, but to help them discover the purpose in doing so. The entire object of true education is to make people not merely to do the right things but to enjoy them; not merely industrious but to love industry not merely learned but to love knowledge.
When we insist upon developing values such as honesty, cleanliness, punctuality, obedience, responsibility and respect for elders, it is for our children to learn that these are the basic ingredients that go in moulding a man of character.
Swami Vivekananda was also of the opinion that education should have life-building, man-making and character-making assimilation of ideas. He said, ‘if you have assimilated ideas and make them your life and character, you have more education than anyone who has learnt by-heart a whole library.’
Basically, each one of us live our lives by values. There are times when temptations persists and we tend to go against out value-based living. Let us turn to our Heavenly Father, in times of temptations, to lead and guide us always on the right path. Let every school pay more attention in bringing up the children with values that would make them have strong foundation to life.
