Early childhood is the best way to teach the child all good qualities of life. In this stage children pick up certain behaviors and learn lot of good things as they grow as a child. During this course of time the role of a parent play an important position in making child to understand how to handle emotions and what are the common emotions that they go through, as they grow in world of this nature and they need to be trained well to face real challenges that they would come across. Some of the common emotions are like, fear, anger, curiosity, jealousy, envy, joy, affection and sorrow etc. As a parent you must make note, observe and help the child to handle these emotional problem well, so that they grow to be well groomed citizen for the society.
- Fear
The first thing child faces in life is fear, by looking at everything as new, something strange. Everything for them a big question how does it happen like conditioning, imitation, and memories of unpleasant experiences play important roles in arousing fear, as do stories, pictures, radio, television programmes and big screens violence elements. At first a child’s response to fear is panic, later response become more specific and includes running away and hiding, crying and avoiding fighting situations, those experiences will make the child have to low self esteem as they grow, so as a parent make sure let the childhood be filled with pleasant experiences.
- Anger
The parents will come across children getting angry for even small things. The most common causes of anger in children are misunderstanding over playthings, the thwarting of wishes, and vigorous attacks from another child. Children express anger through temper tantrums, characterized by crying, screaming, stamping, kicking, jumping up and down or sticking, at time even throwing things. Make the child learn to control ager, by teaching them some methods like counting numbers, tell them every time when they get angry let them write down why they got angry, as the days on this will make the child to better handle with anger.
- Inquisitiveness
The best part of childhood is trying to know things as early as possible. Children are curious about anything new they see and about their own physical appearances. Their first responses to curiosity take from motor explorations alter as a result of social pressures and punishments they respond by asking questions. As young children their interest in knowing things are very demanding never curtail their freedom of asking questions, at times may be irritating but be patient and answer them.
- Jealousy
This is the most common thing we find form young to old, it will be found in childhood days more on children. Young children feel jealous when they think parental interest and attention are shifting toward someone else in the family, usually a new sibling. Young children may openly express their jealousy or they may show it reverting to infantile behaviors, such as bed –wetting, pretending to be ill, or being generally naughty. All such behavior is a bid for attention seeking.
- Envy
Normal tendency of a human nature is to feel envy about others when they do better. This creeps in the mind of the child right form childhood. They often become envious of the abilities or material possessions of another friend. They try to express envy in different ways, the most common of which is complaining about what they themselves have, by articulating wishes to have what others have, or by appropriating the object they envy.
- Being Happy
Young children experience joy from such things as a sense of physical well being, incongruous situations, sudden or unexpected noises, and slight calamities, playing pranks on others, and accomplishing what seems to be difficult tasks. They have various ways of expressing joy, but mostly they smile and laugh, clap hands, jump up and down, or hug other person nearby well as far as possible the child at young age while growing the duty of the parents is to make them and keep them happy.
- Affection
Young children learn to love the things, people, pets, or objects that give them happiness and make them feel proud. They express their affection verbally as they grow older but, while they are still young, they express it physically by hugging, patting, and kissing the objects these experiences at the young age changes towards people as they grow to be matured people.
- Sorrow
They are saddened by the loss of anything love or that is important to them, whether it be a person or a pet, or an inanimate things, such as toy. Typically they express their grief by crying and by losing interest in their normal activities, including eating.
The parents must pay keen attention in early life of an individual, during childhood days the child goes though different emotional experiences. The child becomes more active in getting to know things and how to be emotionally achieving things. During this time parents more specially mother must understand the need of a child making him/her grow in a balanced emotional well being. Childhood is a critical period in personality development, at this time the foundation are laid upon which the adult personality structure will be built, so parents have to play very important role in bringing up a child who can manage any situations emotionally in latter stage of once life.
