Education is the basic need of every child. It makes every child to be responsible citizens of the nation. When we look at globally the number of children dropping out from schools is in steady increase, it may be due to various reasons. Those children who stop going to school in their early age are being engaged in different fields of work, thus the child starts working form the early age who suppose to be with pen and paper in schools, they are with screw driver and bricks in their hand working in the hot sun. It is so with millions of children around the world.
Child Labour demises child’s future. Every child born into this world is a gift from God. It comes with purpose in life, It is responsibility of the society and its social environment to makes the child to realize for the propose that he or she is born, but in many causes it is the fate that the social background of their family set up, socio- economic poor back up makes them less realize their purpose and thus makes them child labourers. In rural poor family backup every child considered to be an earning member of the house.
Due to financial crunch the parents are not able to educate them or even if they do, it is only up to high school level they can afford,there after they are not able to meet the expenses of their child, thus they decide to put them under some factories, tea shops, electrical work, mechanic work, or even make them work in the land lord’s house, well a child who suppose to learn in school he/she is to made to work right from age of six on wards, we can’t blame the child or the parents, it is the economic situation that makes so.. Well we can’t justify child labour.
How do we see child labour in today’s society?
Countless children in today’s world undergo the worst forms of child labour which includes child slavery and child trafficking. Almost more than 13 billion children work as laboures as per the records, but the actual numbers may be much higher. When we look at worldwide India is being the country with maximum children being made to work at the young age, it is because the economic condition of the people. The child undergoes miserable and very tough lives. They earn little and struggle to make enough to feed themselves and they don’t go schools.
It is fate that more than half of them are unable to learn the clearest skills of literacy. Sometimes children are abandoned by their parents or sold to big factories to work. They always make false promise that their child will be educated but often they don’t. It is a globalized problem today, this should change. In order to eradicate this evil, awareness among the people should be created. We must remember that every child born into this world should be given an opportunity to live a dignified life. This responsibility of making every child to live a good life style lies with everyone.
It is our turn to act and put our hands together to work for this noble cause of making every child to learn in schools. Make people to understand that child labour darkens the child’s future. If every one of us tries making this happen things will change for the better. Let’s dream the world that every child goes to school till the age of 14, so they learn at least need knowledge to face the world with courage.
