Month of November 14th is a great and happy day for all kids in schools. This is a month in which they really feel they are more loved and cared because they are celebrated with lot of importance. Children’s day celebration gives a wonderful opportunity for staff to make kids happy by presenting a short programmes like dance, skit, singing, acting, stage play and other creative events. A newly setup schools with new teaching staff may find hard to prepare a programme for children’s day. I am sure you would find this would be a useful tips for you to host simple children’s day. You can even modify according to the way you want.
- Introduction: (escorting: (music)
Let the children come to me..for theirs is the Kingdom of God”. The new testament of the Holy Bible, clearly shows Lord Jesus’s love for the little children. They are to tell us about their innocent heart that keeps them from all wicked acts.They are blind, even with two good eyes, those who don’t see the tender love in the eyes of a child. They are deaf, even with two good ears, those who fail to hear the sweet voice of a child. They are dumb, even with good voice, those who never tend to speak to a child. There was a person, who really loved all the children with all his heart and left his name as a permanent label in the history of today’s date. It is Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, also known as Chacha Nehru, stands behind the celebration of a special day for all the children.
Let us thank God for such a wonderful person and also pray for all the children in the world through a small prayer service.
- Prayer song:
God created human and all creatures on earth to be happy and thus praise God. Singing once is to praying thrice. So let us begin our programme with a prayer song. Our school choir/ Teachers will lead us into prayer.
- Bible reading/ Reading form Holy book
All the religions believe in the power of God. He speaks though words to his people. The holy words have power to move hearts and minds. Let us listen to the word of God. (Father’s love letter)
- Prayer:
“God did not create Adam as a child, but as a man, if that would have happened, sin would not have born into this world”
The heart and mind of a child is as pure as the sky that keeps nothing within and makes its environment cherish and cheerful.
Lord we believe that you love all the people in the world, especially all the children in it. But why is your merciful heart is at rest, when a child is born physically or mentally challenged?, why is your love frozen, when a child is thrown into the bin?, why is the living bread dead, when a child dies of hunger?..The king of judgment, why such an unbalanced law between the children having their meals with the dog on the street and the children enjoying a grand dinning. Still more are there.
Yet, we question you not for the reason, but to request you to abolish these sorrowful situations from the world and make us live as the sons and daughters of one Father, the creator. Children let us thank God that you are not a member of those lacking for parental love, nourishing food, shelter less life and an environment with no learning in it.

My dear Father and creator, we bow our heads to thank for your love and care at every second of our life. Help us to walk in the right path so that our mind and heart stays always pure proving ourselves as your beloved child forever. Amen.

A slight bend with muscles stretched, few animating mudras in their moving limbs, the only language of smile to communicate, little kohl drawn over their eyes to give life to their postures and gestures, we invite our teachers to perform their classic movement
- Welcome speech:
“Good greeting open the gate of grand festive”. Formalities apart, welcoming a gathering speaks something special about the guests of the day. To welcome the special invitees of the program we have Mr/ Mrs……………..to deliver the welcome address.
- Dance by gens staff:
Sometimes we must take time to think deeply, that, why did God install a rough nature in men. I found no answer for this question. But, like every wound has its medicine, there is a remedy for this. Even a stone heart cracks out at the soft heart of a child. That’s a magic!.
There are few gentlemen here, being melted at our children’s love, they have come to dance and celebrate for it.
- Singing:
We have heard birds and animals making sounds. If you listen carefully, you’ll come to know that they are not sounds, but songs sung by them. It is a great gift for them to speak out only through singing and express their thoughts. Whereas we human beings have received the greatest gift, that we can chirp like an insect, roar like an animal, and sing melodiously like a nightingale. Your teaching nightingales are now ready with their melody.
- Dance by Dance master: ( if you have a dance master in your school)
“A skill to train oneself as a master; Mastering a skill to train others as a master; either of them are not so easy, unless and until, you gain, self-interest, self-confidence, patience, moreover continuous practice in the skill”.
That sort of skill in dance, perfectly match our dance master, who is eagerly waiting to give us, just a sample of it.
- Skit:
“The role of a teacher and a student in a school is similar to that of a grain and a rain from the cloud. All the time, the rain may not be gentle, sometimes harsh too. It is up to the grain, to take things for good to nurture as a fertile plant”.
Dear cute kids, we always seek various creative ways to teach you something from anything. Today being your day, we will play your role and make you understand the importance of schooling.
- Dance by Teachers:
“A Teacher is the one who lays the basic foundation of all experts. Hence she has a responsibility to make herself expert in all aspects”.
Our fingers that screw your ears, our eyes that stare at you, our words that scold you, are on leave today, for you to enjoy to the core. With this joy, we are going to dance, as a feast to all your eyes.

Can you tell me, why do we take photos and videos at all functions? Though they are non-living stills and clippings, they keep our memories ever living.
